Roma Norriss, a parenting expert, reveals how she generates an income exceeding £50,000 annually while dedicating just four to six hours per week to work, challenging the notion that such success requires a university degree.

Amidst battling a neurological condition for the past four years, Roma shares, “I earn £290 an hour which, at the moment, means my business turns over about £50,000.” Despite her current limited work hours due to health constraints, she anticipates a profit of approximately £120,000 when she can resume full-time work.

Reflecting on her academic journey, Roma embarked on a Midwifery course at King’s College in London in 2002, only to abandon it due to deteriorating health.

Subsequent plans to resume her studies were disrupted by the joyous news of her pregnancy with her first child, Zephyr. Another attempt, securing a place at the University of Sussex for social anthropology, was thwarted as Roma chose to travel to Japan instead of commencing her studies.

Roma shares, “I loved everything about the Midwifery course at King’s [College],” highlighting her passion for the subject and the challenges she faced with her health during her academic pursuits.

She vividly recalls moments of struggling with coursework, seeking solace in a storage cupboard while grappling with pain and attempting to maintain an appearance of well-being.

Despite these academic detours, Roma remains resilient and adaptable, demonstrating that success and financial stability can be achieved outside traditional educational routes.

Her unconventional path exemplifies the challenges individuals may face in reconciling personal and academic pursuits, and how one can carve a unique path to success, as she continues to redefine expectations with her business acumen.
