A group of tech employees have been gifted gold worth an eye-watering £2.7m and trips to Antarctica as their end-of-year treat.

The lavish presents are in addition to their hefty bonuses, too.

It comes as the company claims to be one of the world’s leading vendors of robot vacuum cleaners, reports Founder Insights.

In total, there are 18,500 employees due to receive the gift of gold; though only 10 will be selected to take on the once-in-a-lifetime trip to Antarctica.

Yu Hao, the founder and CEO of Dreame Technology, said that one gram of the pricey metal will be given alongside their standard end-of-year bonus.

The company, which was founded in 2017, is reported to have a 12.4 per cent share of the global robot vacuum cleaner market.

Based in Suzhou, eastern Jiangsu province, they also offer home and kitchen appliances, as well as smart outdoor equipment and personal care electronics.

Most recently, they’ve ventured into smartphones, drones and electric vehicles.

Not only that, it’s alleged that they recorded the fastest growth in new job listings across the whole of China this year.

And while other companies offer fierce competition, it’s hoped gifts such as this will continue for years to come.
